This Year, Let's Gift Mother Earth: By Saying No to Plastic

CASA is embarking on a special initiative called "Say No To Plastic". As part of our Livelihood Program, we invite everyone to join us in this plantation drive, aimed at gifting Mother Earth with new life and hope for the future. By participating in this movement and using the hashtag #SayNoToPlastic, we can collectively make a positive impact on our environment.

For many marginalized and tribal communities, their lives are intricately intertwined with nature. Any harm done to their natural surroundings directly affects these communities' well-being. Unfortunately, the detrimental effects of deforestation and climate uncertainties have significantly disrupted their livelihoods, often forcing them to migrate to cities in search of alternative means of survival. The long-term consequences of environmental degradation, such as the impact on agriculture, groundwater, and forest resources, have only intensified their struggle.

Through the plantation drive initiated by CASA, we have already planted a remarkable 3 lakh+ trees. This endeavor not only helps restore the ecological balance but also creates livelihood opportunities for local communities. By improving their access to groundwater and forest produce, we aim to empower these communities and enhance their resilience in the face of environmental challenges.

At CASA, we firmly believe in community-based and sustainable work at the grassroots level. We strive not only to uplift the communities we collaborate with but also to have a broader positive impact on the social and natural environment in which we operate. The "Say No To Plastic" campaign exemplifies our commitment to nurturing a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.

By taking part in this initiative, each of us can contribute to the collective effort of creating a greener and more sustainable future. Planting trees not only helps climate resilience but also supports biodiversity, improves air quality, and conserves precious natural resources. Additionally, it creates habitats for countless species and enhances the overall health of our ecosystems.

We encourage individuals, organizations, and communities to join hands with CASA in our mission to preserve and protect our planet. Together, let us make a conscious choice to gift Mother Earth with the care and attention she deserves. Every tree planted and nurtured is a symbol of our commitment to a greener, healthier, and more sustainable world for generations to come.

Join us in Saying No to Plastic by giving back to the Earth with its greenery and building a brighter future for all.

Together, we can make a difference.

Why you should support 'Say No To Plastic' with CASA:

This is a community-oriented initiative that involves local communities, right from planning to implementation.

  • The drive aims to plant native species that are beneficial for the local ecosystems.
  • No invasive species that harms the environment is planted during the drive.
  • The land for plantation of saplings is carefully identified after considering factors such as aridity, type of land, weather conditions, impact on farmland, etc.
  • The plants are mostly fruit-bearing and medicinal in nature, and hence, can be both consumed and sold by the community.
  • CASA emphasized the significance of sustainable practices in daily life, encouraging eco-friendly options and proper waste management. They promoted the use of cardboard boxes for waste collection to encourage recycling and minimize non-biodegradable materials.
  • Integrated farming techniques and organic farming practices were promoted to enhance productivity while minimizing environmental impact.
  • Creating cleaner and healthier living environments by raising awareness about cleanliness and proper waste disposal in villages.
  • Encourage locals to make a vow to protect these vital ecosystems that safeguard coastal communities.
