This Year, Let's Gift Mother Earth: Say No to Plastic

A CASA Environment Day 2025 Initiative

Plastic pollution, deforestation, and climate change are threatening our environment — and the lives of millions who depend on it. For many rural and tribal communities, nature is not just a backdrop — it’s their home, their source of food, income, and identity.

This Environment Day, CASA invites you to take a meaningful step. Let’s say no to plastic and yes to life — by planting native, fruit-bearing, and medicinal trees in the heart of vulnerable communities across India.

For years, CASA has worked hand-in-hand with marginalised communities to restore their connection with nature.

Through our plantation initiative, we’ve already planted over 3 lakh trees — each one improving lives and reviving local ecosystems.

Planting trees means:

  • Cleaner air and water
  • More sustainable livelihoods through fruit and forest produce
  • Improved groundwater levels
  • Reduced migration due to restored agricultural land
  • Climate resilience in the face of unpredictable weather

Plastic waste chokes rivers, kills animals, and seeps into our soil. Its impact is long-lasting, harmful, and growing.

CASA promotes plastic-free, eco-friendly practices at the grassroots level through:

  • Replacing plastic with cardboard-based waste collection
  • Promoting organic farming and integrated agriculture
  • Raising awareness in rural areas about proper waste disposal
  • Encouraging everyday alternatives to single-use plastic

By contributing to our plantation drive, you are:

  • Helping rural families grow food, medicine, and income
  • Restoring forests and biodiversity
  • Taking a stand against plastic waste
  • Leaving behind a legacy of a greener, cleaner planet
