Cloudburst and Flash floods 2022 - Himachal Pradesh/Uttarakhand

The unabating downpour of rain for the past few days recorded a dangerous flow of water that lead to flash floods and landslides in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Roads have been blocked, making it difficult to commute.

The intense rainfall created havoc in several districts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The worst-affected districts include Kangra, Mandi, and Dehradun as the rain continues its downpour, the rivers breached their banks and violently destroyed land and property creating alarming situation. Roads, railway lines and bridges that connects several places are washed away due to the heavy rainfall. The extreme weather affected many lives and livelihood across several districts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Many lives were also lost and are missing during this tragic event.

CASA is reaching out to as many families impacted by floods and landslides. We are urgently delivering dry rations, solar lanterns and utensils to 325 families to the flood impacted families in the Kangra and Raipur districts in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
