Heavy rains, flood disrupts life in Madhya Pradesh; Many killed

Floods have wrecked havoc in Madhya Pradesh with heavy rains and strong water currents washing away shelters of many and killing several persons in the disaster-related incidents.

The situation remains intense in the state as MeT Department has forecasted heavy downpour in the state in the next couple of days.

Heavy gush of flood water caused damages to the commercial as well as residential buildings. Parts of state capital Bhopal and other areas remained inundated as affected families were seen travelling in life boats to reach to the safer locations.

CASA is responding to the disaster with its ‘Flood Relief Feeding Programme’ in worst-affected locations – Anna Nagar, Vikas Nagar and Bagmugyaliya areas in Bhopal and Satna districts – starting today.

Till now, we have distributed 2,000 food packages along with water pouches to the victims in Bhopal.

CASA is also identifying flood-affected families in Sagar, Satna and Mandla districts with the help from our partners.
